Timeless Objects Under Glass

This old clock with the nautical design keeps a different kind of time. Not the kind that wakes me up from a pleasant sleep, or reminds me of somewhere I have to be, but the kind that lets me sail away in my imagination.

The last day of October may slip by with hardly a boo from a small goblin or two, but it also launches a new season. One that can move like a freight train, and travel at the speed of light! My old clock slows things down to a manageable speed.

Its kind old face reminds the world that there is another current moving through space that needs attention. One that notes the falling of leaves, the flight of birds, the advancing of one generation into the place of another.

Its softly murmured tick is not the toc of most clocks. It seems to preserve each moment behind its timeless glass, keeping hours in memory. Reminding us of time long past, other Octobers, and golden days that should never be forgotten. . . .

I love this old hand-painted china too. The little bowls with tiny acorns, and an antique plate with a waterfall scene.

Lovely details.

Each miniature stroke carefully placed.

Old things help make time stand still when you need it to. Even if just for a moment. . . .

Wishing you a timeless November!

French Blue

I'm in the wrong place to be always on the lookout for French antiques, but once in a while something charming turns up. I found a small flow blue French bowl in my forays this week, and was excessively overjoyed at the discovery.

I'm displaying it here with a tiny English butter pat that I found a while ago.

What a romantic and delightful scene for such a little plate!

The gold details are still intact on the French porcelain. So delicate and wonderful!

A small Limoges Eiffel tower completes the scene.

Merci beaucoup for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this petite taste of  Francais Bleus! I hope your weekend is wonderful!

Ciao! for now!

Witches Tea

A cauldron for a punchbowl has us bobbing for pumpkins! But that's not the only odd thing happening tonight. . . .

Anything can happen at a Witches Tea Under a Halloween Moon!

A magic brew steeps in a pumpkin shaped tea pot.

Are those eyes peeping into the window out of the darkness?

What unseen force has upset the tea cups? We had better keep our wits about us while we gather round
this eerie scene!

Thanks for stopping by my deeeeeeeeeeeeries!
Teeheeheeheeheeheehee!
Hahahahahahahahah!
Ciao! for now!
