A Little Change Up To The Winter Stage

I have given a little nod to bird life in my fancy old dining room frame.  The sunlight lingers a little longer each day, and soon enough it will be time for nesting.

I like to surround myself with objects from nature in my own nest, and this beautiful little branch reminds me of the walk I took with my son and granddaughter in the snow one sunny day over the holidays.

I spotted a small acorn still clinging to a twig and my son climbed up and fetched it down for me.

A fresh lace drapes over wicker my garden stand.

I also found the sweetest roll of ribbon in recent weeks. The little bird tracks are similar to those found strewn across the open fields nearby from the Canadian Geese and Sand Hill Cranes that winter over.

A few farmhouse props get woven into the story too.

Anticipating the days ahead, while savoring the scents and sounds of the winter stage for yet awhile to come. . . .

What's new for you?

I hope you are enjoying the cozy pursuits of winter!

Jacqueline

  1. Oh Jacqueline, no one does it better than you. We are made of the same cloth. My new city house is in creams and ivory, but not enough for me. Why do we love the whites so? With so many magazines doing the jewel tone things in rooms, I would not be comfortable living in them. I guess it does get cold there. I think of NM as being warmer than it is. Today will be warm here so I will be enjoying that.

  14. The bird is spectacular. Love the soft colors, the muted text on the background, everything. In fact, what ISN'T to love in this post? The ribbon is enchanting, the bunny plate makes me smile. It all feels so right.

My birds are outside Lizzie's window and chucking down the seed like nobody's business. That's what a little snow will bring you!

    Enjoy the day.
