Lazy Days & Shabby Flea Finds

The lazy days of summer have definitely kicked in. I'm offline more than usual, and off enjoying the hot weather most weekends. But between travel and campouts I'm out hitting the fleamarkets and thrift stores when I can because it's a prime time to score the goods while every one else is on vacation!

I'm showing just a couple of bits of china that turned up to charm me this week. This little gravy dish will be perfect for spoons on the table when granny camp happens any minute now. (I better find some energy somewhere for those four-to-nine year olds!) No time for thrifting when that happens.

I've got quite a few bits of "this and that" to keep my new pieces company like these orphaned rosy Limoges saucers. Enjoy the dish parade. . . .

The peonies are the same ones from the last time I posted them. I left them in the fridge while I was away for the weekend. Magic!

I found this small ironstone bowl with a blue rim and rose on the side just before a camping trip and took it right along with me! It's certainly sturdy enough!

Any plans for your last weekend in June?
It all goes so fast!
Happy lazy days ahead!

Jacqueline

Great finds and beautiful photos. I like the crimped edge and roses on that sweet little plate. Your soft pinks and linens are so romantic looking! You may want to come and take a look at my Ironstone Ice Water pitcher I just posted. Have a great rest of your week.

I'm smiling over the peony that waited in the fridge while you were away camping. What a great idea!
Sweet new finds, Jacqueline. I found a nice gravy in brown and white transfer that is making me happy. ;-)
Have fun with granny camp. Lucky little ones!

Hi J,
I love that you are out there finding the pretties:-) My favorite summer pastime too:-) And, if I find any Limoges I consider it a very good day!!! LOVE those small plates, and the dry roses perfect!! I am going to remember that about the Peonies blooms (I never knew, great tip!!) My Peonies are long gone.

I have been babysitting three days a week 1 and 3 year old girls. I have had them since birth. They are quite comfortable here. My Mom told me it was good training for "Granny Camp." Lovely photos of the flowers and the Limoges! Sigh! Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!

Aren't we all so happy that those lazy days of summer are upon us, Jacqueline? :) There's just something so satisfying about pulling the sheers against the hot midday sun, watering the plants, and hearing lawnmowers going that does our souls good. I love that sweet little bowl with the blue rim. Soooo pretty! Hope you're having a wonderful holiday, sweetie! Enjoy!!!
