On The Pier

I feel like a roving reporter! But I must say that blogging is a much quicker and fun way to write postcards. And you get to pick your own views to send!

We spent the entire day at the beach. What a parade! But we managed to pull ourselves away from the surf and off of our beach blankets long enough to investigate the pier. So many young people flock here. I can only imagine a weekend. This was midday on a Tuesday. About as crowded as you would ever want it. But a good opportunity for a language lesson, as there are lots of foreign visitors to beautiful San Diego.

Lots of blue found my camera today. I think it's even clicking quicker with all the happy colors around!

The Crystal Beach Hotel is located right on top of the pier.

I read the "private" sign with only a tad of irony. . . .

The loo is identified in a few different languages too. . . .

Grown kids constructed this castle with three round blocks of sand placed on top of each other. They were just perfect cylinders when we passed by in the morning. By six o'clock, viola!

Having a great time!
Wish you were here!

Jacqueline

  1. Did you stay on the Crystal Pier? We stayed there a few years ago on a visit back to our old stomping grounds. We were married in Pacific Beach and lived in Mission Beach. I loved how each of the cottages on Crystal Pier was done in a different beachy decor. And the sound of the surf rushing underneath was pretty cool. Thanks for bringing back a memory.

  2. My daughter lived in San Diego for 7 years.

Love that place - she would bawl her eyes out if she read your blog today, she hates being back, but it's too expensive to live there and she just couldn't stay any longer.

Enjoy it- truly is a marvelous place.
