A Taste For Vintage

One of the things that I enjoy about vintage fabrics, besides their cheery prints, is the ability to entirely change the look and mood of a space. I think of individual pieces that I have in my collection, and I get a sort of craving for them. A bit like you would for, say, chocolate ice cream, or lemon pound cake. Once you get the idea in your head it just won't go away until you indulge the whim.

I get that impulse for this vintage rose runner at least a couple of times a year and go looking for it. It's the sort of item that stands on its own. In fact, it really only blends well for me with a white background. It's as though it wants all the limelight. So once in a while I let it have its own way. . . .

So that's what's on my table top this Tuesday.
I hope your week is starting out sweet!

Jacqueline,
Oh how lovely! I agree that this little beauty does quite well all onits own...or against the white, but have you paired it with that beautiful pink rose tea cup? I think they would compliment each other quite well! Thank you for sharing one of your many treasures! I did, so enjoy this post!
Fondly,
Pat

Jacqueline: Makes me think of a piece of salt-water taffy. I don't know why except for the color, but that's what I thought of the minute I saw it.I grew up by the beach and there was a great candy store on the boardwalk. That white wax paper wrapped around a soft piece of pink..So pretty..Happy Monday..Judy

There's that pink bench that I love! These photos look like they belong to a Scandinavian blog, so light and airy.

I love the white on white with pink. Roses even on textiles remind me of their sweet perfume. Very pretty post.

You have such beautiful pieces. Funny I was just thinking almost the same thing the other day. I picked up a really pretty dainty white pitcher with little roses on it. I made myself put it down because I packed all of my rose pieces away, but I am thinking about it more now that I saw your post, I may just go back and pick it up for myself as a mother's day gift to me.

Such a lovely cloth, Jacqueline, no wonder you can't help but take it out now and then. The chintzy cabbage roses are so classic and you show the runner off so prettily in these pictures.
