June Is Busting Out!

Well, I'm feeling exuberant! It happens occasionally. I love summer, and tomorrow is JUNE!! I've got that last day of school, new summer sun suit, flipflops feeling that I first had in fourth grade. Maybe I'll read Huckleberry Finn again! But one thing is for sure. There will be lots of sun and light. Cottage white. Lazy days, and twinkling nights.

It's time for Granny Camp again. In a week or two the blessed noise and sticky fingers arrive. Wet towels and muddy footprints will appear in staggered shifts for weeks to come. Leisure afternoons of staging still lifes will be a bit harder to come by. For there will be nothing STILL happening for awhile!

I haven't shown you this spring/summer themed ironstone platter before, but the season is right.

Birdie details.

I love the wildness of the weeds and grasses in the pattern. Just the way I'm feeling. A bit weedy and wild!

Airy mayflies.

Can there be anything more energizing than shining, frothy, and lacy summer white?

Welcome to JUNE Ladies and Gents!

Ciao! for now!

Tying The Knot

Our holiday weekend included a family wedding. It had the unnerving glitches that these events sometimes have. There were delays, and a group of us entertained ourselves by recalling scenes from favorite wedding comedies! But all's well that ends well. It was a lovely event.

Turns out the wind played havoc with the original setup and everything had to be moved inside.

But my creative niece had a wonderful time designing her wedding details. I got a couple of shots of the yummy cake before it disappeared.

A simple elegant design adorned with fresh flowers.

Young and old love a happy celebration.

Fresh spring colors.

Festive favors.

A delightful blend of roses, chrysanthemums and lilies for the tables.

Weddings are often a great deal like family reunions with relatives arriving from all quarters almost all at the same time. And almost a miracle of coordinated schedules.

The last toast had barely been given when there was already talk of flight schedules and fresh travel arrangements to be carried out. But the celebration was nothing less than a little gem of inspiration wonderfully orchestrated over months of time and culminating in the delight of all. (We'll hear all about the headaches of the production later.)

I hope you had a fun long weekend too!
Ciao! for now!
