Garden Party

It's still early enough in the season to set up on the grass in the middle of the day. We have big trees, a light breeze, and a cool green carpet underfoot. Is there anything sweeter smelling than a fresh mowed lawn?

A few details carry out a vintage garden theme starting with a layer of  vintage prints from my graphics collection laid at each place. One serves as part of the centerpiece.

The embossed grape leaf design on my vintage white Wedgewood also leans to the outdoors. And I've been at the peat pots again. This time they ring my vintage linen napkins with a flower sprig peeking out of the top.

There's never a shortage of afternoon sun in the Land of Enchantment! But the green and white scheme helps keep things cool.

I wish I could have fresh baby's breath delivered to my door whenever I want it. It's one of my favorite flowers. It makes for a light and airy presentation here.

A stamped tag displayed in a tiny vintage metal flower frog serves as either a place card or favor (if you could bear to part with them). The table covering is a lightweight vintage seersucker spread with a heavier layer underneath. What fabric says "Summer Afternoon" better?

Vintage Fostoria glasses and vintage silver flatware glint in the sun.

I'm ready for a whole season of lawn parties!
 How about you?
Ciao! for now!

  14. Oh for peat pot's sake, but this is gorgeous. I agree...if dotted swiss is the fabric of spring, seersucker is summer! I remember sun dresses of seersucker and how cool it felt against my skin.
I swear up and down...when I finish my ta da list...I'm gonna have a sit down on the grass too...even if it's 110 degrees!
This is just lovely and SO inviting!

  19. Seersucker says "summer". The tag in the metal frog is very summmery, also.
