A Romantic Vintage Limoges Table For Two

One of the hundreds of Haviland Limoges patterns graces my table for two today. Whether dressed up or down, this soft setting always makes for a bit of refinement to sit down to on occasion.

This assymetrical design has a spray of flowers in the center and a few different ones around the rim.

I only have a few pieces of this particular pattern, but it mixes with others so well I can use it to extend my other settings.

A vintage pair of gold rimmed martini glasses serve as wine stems here. Old glass has such character and adds a bit more interest to the layout.

All is laid on a vintage pink linen embroidered cloth from Madiera, Portugal. A vintage Peach colored Damask tablecloth serves as a the table skirt.

Napkins are vintage damask with a hand crochet hem. Super soft as well.

Here a detail of the applique table topper makes for a little more interest and romance.

The woven detail in the under layer does too.

Here's a sample of the variation in the plate pattern on the rim that is so typical of Limoges.

There's also a rose design on the vintage flatware.

A couple of lit candles completes the scene.

A glass art deco double candlestick is the only centerpiece for this small table. The cranberry base makes for a nice contrast for all the pastels.

A little soft music, and maybe a French menu, makes for a perfectly romantic celebration table for two.

A covered butter dish is one of the interesting pieces I have in this pattern.

The small bread or dessert plates repeat the pattern of the dinner plates.

I'm sharing this table at

Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

  21. Thank you for the comment at my place today about the crystal spoon/fork servers. Yep - - - $30 was what they were valued for ONE. I did find them for less on e-Bay, but who's counting that???

I LOVE this table. The dishes are gorgeous and I'm in deep covet mode over that butter dish.
