Under the Eaves

Thank goodness for the nursery and florist. My lilacs are just about finished, and there's nothing else happening in my garden to bring inside.

When I opened the door today I felt HEAT! A good feeling, I must say. It all just makes me want a change of scene. We have a couple of patio benches that are good for staging new displays. Protected  under the eaves from the spring winds we can enjoy them for awhile.

I love vintage garden things, and they tend to grow in my patio like weeds! The sifter, tin baskets, and watering cans often form a random still life of their own.

We're nowhere near the beach. All the more reason to bring the beach to us! I was thrilled to find a couple of beach glass bottles that of course have nothing to do with the beach. Shells seem like a natural to display with them.

I've used a vintage flocked sheer curtain as a backdrop for interest, and to soften everything. It's a sort of short term "wallpaper."

Someday I'll plant my own spring bulbs! They are perfect for Easter decorations.

One of my favorite flower flogs with vintage botanical cards.

Have a great new week, and a wonderful holiday!
Ciao! for now!

  3. Quite the lovely natura morta deciduosa deliciosa you've got there. It looks like the perfect place to duck away from the heat. Those rhododendrons really pop against those cool blues! I envy your warm weather, our freezing crappy snow has only just graduated to freezing crappy rain!

  8. So lovely with the soft blues and greens and bright pink flowers. I just wish it would warm up here so I can 'decorate' outside too. Another month maybe. Pamela

  16. I want a garden that sprouts vintage beauties too! Love all your pictures, and I am with you on the shells. We are not anywhere near the beach either but I love decorating with shells nonetheless.
