Lacy Party Plates

It feels like party time again. Maybe just because I have new party dishes!

I like to have pretty things that can also hold up to a good time. That means glass needs to be heavy. And my new plates and bowls fit that bill.

They're quite small. More like snack dishes. And they seem vintage to me, but probably aren't. Have you seen them before anywhere?

Inexpensive dishes can be dressed up and made special with table linens. Here I'm using vintage tea napkins and a lacy cloth.

I have the party all set up in the middle of the room on my pop up card table. It's easy to be impromptu with a table like this.

All you need are a few simple foods, something to drink, and your pretty table things do the rest.

Vintage silverplate flatware completes the buffet setting.

The vintage bistro glass is heavy too. I prefer it to delicate crystal. And there are also newer versions.

Now I'm off to pick up the cake!
Ciao! for now!

  12. Oh Jacqueline, as usual your things are just lovely. The photographs are so very evocative. I have some glass party plates but not nearly so pretty. And I just LOVE the vintage lace doilies - they are exquisite! Glasses, napkins, and lace tablecloth complete a beautiful table. Enjoy the party!

  23. Vintage or not (although they remind me of a pattern my g'mother had)...even PBJ sandwiches would look fabulous served on them.
I love the heavier pieces as well. The stemware is just gorgeous. Hmmm..wouldn't an ice cream sundae be delish in one?

  24. Beautiful! Quite ethereal ... like the table settings are going to float right off the table.

I don't know much (if by much I mean "anything") about glass plates, but yours look gorgeous.

I have some of that same old silverplated flatware --the Ambassador style -- I love it!

Now... can I come for cake?
