Spring Fever

During a long cold winter there's nothing like family to help get you through. Especially if they live in Santa Barbara! Turns out January is a pretty good time for a family reunion.

I've said it here before, but this place is the closest thing I've seen to the Garden of Eden.

Every variety of bloom seems to grow on every street. Word is that it's going to be a beautiful spring here. But it's looking pretty good to me right now having left the barren landscape of winter in New Mexico behind for a few days.

But beautiful interiors are in season any time of the year. And this dining room takes advantage of spring by featuring a colorful painting prominently on it's walls.

A single rose combined with some early camelias echo the vibrant colors. A serendipitous outcome of a survey of the grounds.

The room just begs for it's portrait to be taken.

A bit of English transferware dresses things up for a few shots.

The original painting from a Santa Fe artist dominates the dining room and can be seen well from a few other rooms including the entry hall.

Heirloom Minton plates are right at home on the antique table.

Beautiful rooms are always so welcoming!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you enjoy a little peek at spring too!
Ciao! for now!

  8. Thanks for warming up my day. Winter is here in Minnesota for awhile so I have to be patient in waiting for spring and find something of winter to enjoy. Lovely interiors do the trick!
