Pot of Cream

It's so easy to become excessive with things you love. If you want one, you want them all. But the eye is charmed by both the single specimen, as in one perfect rose, and by a profusion, as in fields of lavender.

And aren't we suggestible? A color name on a paint chip can send you into a frenzy of cotton. Or a pot of cream. . . .

Is there a color called mottled ironstone?

Would you sprinkle in a few flecks of rust and stir them in?

This little bowl is the newest bloom in my china garden. The mark of her name reads to me like a prize winning rosebud in a David Austin catalog.

I thought I would introduce her to you alongside the other creamy wares. Pots or pitchers. We make room for them all.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
 Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

And guess what!
It's time for another White Wednesday
 at Faded Charm!

 Don't miss the party!

  12. What a pretty dish, one of my favorite combinations...creamy white and just a little fagile flower. What is there about white dishes that makes them so appealing...maybe the simplicity. Lovely post.(-:

  13. I so agree once you find something you love you want more...but I have learned while cleaning my studio that one was just enough for me right now.
I had to take back somethings that I really loved but did not need.
It is the hardest thing for a collector to do.
Your collection is just beautiful and the more grungey and piece is the more I love it.

  21. Your ironstone collection is just lovely! I am a big fan of pitchers, too. Just love their shape. I've just recently found a few at some of my favorite antique haunts. :) Love your new mottled ironstone bowl. I think those discolorations add such charm.
