CHEERS!

I've celebrated New Year's Eve in lots of different ways over the years. Some much livelier than others.

But I almost always feel like a real celebration is in order. Maybe because it's the easiest holiday! You really have a choice to do it up big or not do it at all.

But whether you have a big pot luck, or just a few lucky friends, it's time to bring out the bling and have a festive table.

Clockface dipping bowls are from Pottery Barn.

Each of the four is different, and makes the theme easy. I just grabbbed a few vintage clocks and was good to go.

My monogram china always seems too serious for most occasions but zings things up here.

Linens, silver, and glassware are all vintage. Of all tables in the year, this one calls for both old and new elements.

The opening and closing photo graphics are vintage images, and the table place cards are reproduction from Cavallini and Co.

Ready for the countdown!!

CHEERS!! And all the BEST in the New Year!
Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

  1. I've been lusting after those Pottery Barn plates for two years now. Aren't they just perfect?! Wish I had the extra money to get me a set. You've done a super job. Love the sea of votive candles around the champagne chiller. Your guests are going to have a wonderful time.
    Happy New Year.

  9. Jacqueline -
You have a winner here! This is a beautiful post. I agree. I hate to go out on New Year's Eve unless it's to a dinner party in someone's home. Even then, I worry about the drive home. A very small but elegant dinner at home is my preference. See my blog next week!

  18. Hi again,
I went to the post you linked to about loving books. Well said!! I can remember charming bookstores from when I lived in Memphis (way long ago!)and then Albuquerque. I remember the "feeling" I had when I walked in them! Especially one quaint children's one there in Alb. Probably long since gone. Kimberly even remembers it! And that bookstore in "You've Got Mail"--the main reason I watch it again and again. Now, to get a reprieve from the rain and dark and gloom, I will go to Borders. It isn't small or quaint, but fills a need. I usually head to the "home" section and escape a while. Thanks for suggesting that post.
