Cloched in Autumn

Intended for protecting plants against the cold in the garden, or keeping food from air and insects, cloches have been around a long time.

Their beauty has elevated them to decorative status, and they do seem best appreciated in that way. . . elevated.

Cloches and cake stands seem made for each other don't they?

Mary Engelbreit was the first to bring cloches to my consciousness as a display tool. I've loved how you can create a story under glass ever since.

I haven't added to my glass dome collection since Marty's last party, so I've used a little of my transferware to balance things out.

It's a great chance to enjoy a fresh arrangement of some of my favorite things.

Thanks Marty! And thank YOU for stopping by for a peek! I hope you're all loving the change!
Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

Hi Jacqueline...

What a beautiful autumn vignette, my friend! I do agree...I think pedestal cake plates were made for cloches! I can't tell you how many times that I've used one that way! I loved looking at your old photos...they seem even more distinguishing under glass! And...I always enjoy seeing your brown transferware collection!!!

Warmest autumn wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

Oh I love them both. So pretty elevated on such gorgeous glass. I love the nuts, so simple but elegant, and the pictue held up by the floral frog is genius. Love it with the Bible. Your vignette is stunning. Thanks so much for joining the party. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty

Love your vignettes...I have loved cloches since I became aware of them in decorating a few years ago. At that time, they were extremely hard to find...now, you can find them pretty easily.
