The Eleventh Hour

I'm late for the Party! Marty's Summer Cloche Party that is!

This is sort of my midnight in the dusty library version. Since it's almost midnight and I'm in the dusty library!

One of my cloche's is a vintage rose globe. I'm told that one can place a rose in water and preserve it for some time. Mine's filled with shells of course!

I'm always collecting old books and papers. I'm using old piano rolls here.

An old gauge tops a brown bottle in the tall cloche. A copy of Milton, Paradise Lost, and a leather topped ink well. The base is an old dictionary.

The backdrop consists of pages from an antique photograph album.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my fun!
Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

There are a bunch more cloches over at A Stroll Thru Life! Go check it out! I'm also linking to Favorite Things Saturday at Bargain Hunting (and chatting) With Laurie!

  1. Hey slacker :-) So glad you showed up! Love the sepia tones and textures you are great at putting a good vignette together! You got my attention with rose globe... I have heard the term but never thought about why they were such.. now I am going to have to look into that!!

  3. Better late than never!
Your cloches look amazing. Like how you used the old gauge to top the bottle and how you used an open book as a base. I love found objects...

  4. We used to have one of those rose globes, our base wasn't as pretty as yours though! Yes, they work well with flowers in them, hope you try it!

  5. Beautiful. The different textures of white. The fact you opened the book is different that just putting one in like I did. I love all the different pieces you put inside too. That round one, that is super too.

  7. Your cloches are stunning and your vignette is gorgeous. I love the old books, inkwell, clock and the pretty shells. The music roll and your backdrop make a perfect vignette. Very pretty. I would never have thought of opening a book up. Great vignette. Thanks so much for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

  8. I love your vintage inspired cloches. That must be rather large one to sit over a book plus other things. I love it. I love the peeling old book, too.
